Music icon Neil Diamond is one of the best-selling and most iconic singer/songwriters in contemporary pop-rock music history.
In addition to being one of the best-selling and most successful live artists ever, he’s also composed the soundtrack of our lives — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.
In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond retired from touring after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s on-stage legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences across the globe through tribute artist Rob Garrett, widely regarded as the top Neil Diamond tribute artist.

Like his legendary counterpart, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.
In the spring of 1974, his parents brought him from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him 16 more times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a decade-and-a-half career in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from lead singer of a cover band to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.
In 1995, Garrett was hand-picked by Paul Revere (of check here The Raiders) to portray Neil Diamond in the Honolulu production of “Legends in Concert”.
What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a three-year residency.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to create his own tribute production.
He began a steady touring schedule, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Las Vegas.”
He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.
Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19th officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in the year 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has performed his show at more Las Vegas venues than any other tribute artist.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only active Neil Diamond tribute production in America.
